Two Atlantic MedTech Cluster Members Shortlisted for Awards
Two members of the Atlantic MedTech Cluster have been shortlisted for awards in the 2018 Sligo Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards.
Ward Automation is shortlisted in the Skillnet Regional Excellence Award category. It is for companies that engage in proactive training programmes with their staff.
All companies that took part in the Sligo Chamber Skillnet received an automatic entry into the award. The finalists, including Ward Automation, demonstrated a commitment to upskilling their staff and investing in people as well as showing they recognise the importance of their team in relation to future growth plans.
Other finalists in this category in addition to Ward Automation include Vendor Finance, AbbVie (another North West MedTech industry company), and Jennings O’Donovan.
Innovation
The other Atlantic Med Tech Cluster member to be shortlisted for an award is SL Controls. It is a finalist in the Innovator Excellence Award category.
This category is for companies that demonstrate true innovation to the judging panel. This could be innovation in a process, product, or business offering. Examples include introducing an innovative new product, launching an innovative new business, or offering an innovative new service. An innovation in an existing business also qualifies.
SL Controls was shortlisted for the introduction of its new suite of products, TOTALline.
The other finalists in the innovation category are Sligo Haulage and Overstock.
The inaugural Sligo Chamber of Commerce Excellence Awards ceremony will take place at the annual Chamber President’s Ball. It is on Saturday 10 November at the Radisson Blu Hotel and Spa.
