Ward Automation Increases Capacity with Move to New Purpose-Built Facility
Following a €2.2 million investment, Ward Automation has moved into a new purpose-built facility in Sligo. The new building will allow the company to increase production capacity and will enhance the service it offers to customers.
Ward Automation is a leading manufacturer of custom automation solutions and assembly machines primarily for manufacturers in the medical device and pharmaceutical industries. Its clients include many of the world’ largest companies in these industries, and it has provided solutions for manufacturing operations in Ireland and around the world.
The new building is close to its previous location in the Finisklin Business Park, Sligo. With the addition of the new facility, the company has increased its floor space by four times.
“We continue to see strong growth in the industries we specialise in, and that has led to increased demand from our customers,” said John Ward, Managing Director of Ward Automation. “Our new building gives us increased floor space and modern facilities that will help us move forward in the next phase of the company’s development We also wanted to take the opportunity of building a new facility to reduce our carbon footprint.”
The new Ward Automation design and manufacturing facility in Sligo is state-of-the-art. The building is insulated throughout to a very high specification providing an energy-efficient envelope to reduce running costs in addition to several energy-saving features.
The build provides for both heating and cooling through high-efficiency air source heat pump technology. Matched ventilation and heat recovery according to the demand of occupancy patterns ensure a comfortable environment for our staff to work in.
The electrical installation incorporates low energy systems such as automatic switching LED lighting, high-efficiency motors, and controls that operate efficiently to meet demand.
